Happy Monday Makings #7

How time flies! Monday already!? So here's what I made today... using scraps of various types of fabric collected over a period of time. I have started to sort all my thrifted and "hand-me-down" fabric into colour stories. This colour story is rich and luxurious, it carries a bit of a Medieval era mystery. Don't you think? I love how it turned out... I found a new fabric flower pattern here.

Outfit Love: Peach and Polkadots

What a lovely sunny Tuesday! I'm so happy that I could get this outfit together at last! It was inspired by various pins over a period of about two years. I know, crazy right? It seems South Africa is always a couple of year behind when it comes to trends, technology etc. Then I might add that I collected these items over a period of 10 years. Even crazier!? I know, but if I find something I really love (and it lasts) I just cannot ever get rid of it.

  • the pretty dirty peachy cardigan, I recently found at Meltz @R79.00
  • the amazing bobble necklace, I found at Mr.Price last year December @R69.99
  • the polka-dotted shirt, I found at Mr.Price about four years ago
  • the skinny jeans, I found at Pick'n'Pay Clothing about five months ago @R119.99
  • the pretty pink and brown peep-toe heels with bows, I found at Rage about 10 years ago
  • the awesome owly earrings, were a gift from my sister-in-law (Yuseon) when they visited from South Korea last year
  • the cat-eye sunnies, I found at Mr.Price a year ago. they were on sale @R19.99

-loving this outfit! the cardi has such cut little details and it goes with everything-

Happy Monday Makings #6

Happy Monday, Friends! It is such a lovely day here in Hermanus, it seems that winter came early this year. There's an chill in the breeze, the sun is dimmed yet hot and the shadows are so very long. This coming weekend I'm taking part in a local market, hosted in the Sandbaai Hall here in Hermanus. Their theme is Recycle, Reuse, Re- claim and so on... As most of my products are already made of fabrics sourced from local charity shops, I was asked to exhibit at this market. So now I'm working on some new ranges, experimenting with new floral patterns, for winter.

-this pretty was inspired by the little navy piece above, I found it in a bag filled with scraps and offcuts, it had already been sewn. As I went through the rest of the bag I found this lovely Teal hem offcut and thought it the perfect opportunity to try out this folded rose pattern with leaves-
-and there you have it-

Em' Birthday Bash Giveaway!

Hiya friends! Hope you had an amazing weekend... and just to make for an awesome Monday, Emily from Emma Deer is hosting a massive birthday giveaway! My friend, Natasha, over at Bamboo Blossom, sent me the link to Emily's giveaway and so I decided to donate two of my lovely Spring Roses. My Spring Rose brooches are handmade by me with fabric salvaged from charity shops. These ones are made of remnants of what seems to be off cuts from bridesmaid's dresses. So take a little time(with coffee in hand) to enter this awesome giveaway and good luck!

-P.S. The winner will be announced on Tuesday, 23 April, the day Emily turns 27, so be sure to wish her a happy birthday whether you win or not-
